About Russia

by Yusuke

People know that Russia is the biggest country in this world. Of course I knew it. But I didn't know that the population of Russia is so small, considering their big country.

The population of Russia is almost the same as Japan. The president in Russia said we have to recognize the important problem of population. Otherwise, the country will become weaker and weaker. I hope they solve this problem.

Russian population
by: Gary Wolff

Wow, that's fascinating Yusuke! I didn't know that.

I just checked Wikipedia and according to this table, Russia is the 9th most populous country with 143,300,000 people, while Japan is the 10th most populous, with 127,547,000 people: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Country_populations

That is very, very interesting! Thanks for educating me, Yusuke...
