Amazing Australian reefs

by Masanori Kawaguchi
(Tokyo, Japan)

There are a lot of amazing places all over the world. The Great Barrier Reef is one of them. It is the world's largest reef system composed of over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands stretching for over 2,600 kilometres over an area of about 344,400 square kilometres.

There are environmental threats to the Great Barrier Reef such as climate change, pollution, crown-of-thorns starfish, and fishing.

I want to visit the Great Barrier Reef someday and many other people do too, because it is so amazing there.

We have to behave well not only at the Great Barrier Reef, but other places too in order to keep them amazing.

Environmental threats to the Great Barrier Reef
by: Gary Wolff

Thanks for your nice story, Masanori.

Yes, we should be careful not to disturb the delicate balance between man & nature, and by all means, do all we can to preserve the magnificent beauty of the Great Barrier Reef.

And like you, I hope to visit that amazing place someday.

Thanks again...
