How do I get to the Mt. Fuji 5th station with a JR Rail Pass?

Hello! How do I get to the Mt. Fuji 5th station with a JR Rail Pass? Does the bus service from Kawaguchiko Station to the 5th station accept the JR Rail Pass as proof of payment?

Nope.

I'm afraid not, because that bus is not run by JR.

But the JR Rail Pass is good to Otsuki Station, where you'll need to pay for the Fujikyu Railway to Kawaguchiko Station, and also for the bus up to the 5th Station.

Another option for visitors from overseas is the Mt. Fuji Round Trip Ticket, a 2-day pass which covers train & bus transport from Tokyo to Mt. Fuji's 5th Station for just ¥5600: http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/fuji/

But it doesn't appear that it'd save you any money, as the round trip fare on the Fujikyu Railway from Otsuki Station to Kawaguchiko Station is ¥2280 & the round trip bus fare from Kawaguchiko Station up to the 5th Station is ¥2100, for a total extra cost (not covered by your JR Rail Pass) of ¥4380.
