How else can I get to the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station from Shinjuku on a Sunday morning?

by Binny
(Canada)

Hi Gary,

Your website has been a very valuable resource in helping me plan my trip to Japan and Mt. Fuji.

Q: If I cannot get the desired morning bus reservation to get to Mt. Fuji from Shinjuku, how else can I get to the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station from Shinjuku on a Sunday morning?

Your help is much appreciated.

Binny

Try the climbing bus from Kawaguchiko Station
by: Gary Wolff

Thanks, Binny!

The Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station can also be reached by bus from Kawaguchiko (or Fujisan) Station (https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6922.html#section_get_there), and this page shows other various transport options for getting to Kawaguchiko Station, including by train: https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6905.html

If you need additional help with time schedules, etc., I’m sure the kind folks at the Tokyo Tourist Information Center would be happy to help you: Tel. +81-3-3201-3331, daily from 9:00 to 17:00

Happy trails and thanks for visiting my site…

Cheers,
Gary

p.s. In case you haven't already heard, there was a fatality on Fujisan yesterday. I read in another news story that she was Russian: https://english.kyodonews.net/news/2019/08/7e6e0652345b-climber-dead-after-being-hit-on-head-by-falling-stone-on-mt-fuji.html
