How long is the historic Mt. Fuji Yoshidaguchi Trail?

by Corina Montgomery
(Okinawa, Japan)

I know that starting at the 5th station makes it an 11.6 mile loop, but if you were to start and end at the Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine following the traditional trail, how long would the hike be?

I cannot find any clear information as to how long the shrine to station 5 portion of the trail is.

Howdy, Corina! Your wish is my command. :-)

Information on the historic Yoshiguchi Climbing Trail was furnished to me several years ago by a kind gentleman who was the coordinator for International Relations at Fujiyoshida City Hall.

To answer your question, depending upon which map you refer to, the distance from the Kitaguchi Hongū Fuji Sengen Jinja to the Yoshidaguchi 5th Station (not to be confused with the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station) is around 11 km.

More details including a map, hiking times, and background information can be found on page 2 of my Climbing Mount Fuji FAQ pages: https://www.garyjwolff.com/climbing-mt-fuji-page2.html#39

If you found this info helpful and are feeling generous, by all means feel free to throw a few spare coins into my tip bucket by clicking on the yellow Donate button at the bottom of any page on my site. :-)

Happy trails and thanks for visiting my website...
