Hi Gary,

Is it possible to climb Mt. Fuji in February alone without being part of a tour or is the mountain closed during these times?

Thanks in advance.

Leo, it's certainly possible to climb Mt. Fuji in February, but not recommended for a whole host of reasons....the least of which is if you get into any trouble up there by yourself, you'll be in deep doo-doo. :-)

In case you missed it, there's an entire section on my Climbing Mt. Fuji FAQ page on why it's not a good idea to attempt Mt. Fuji in the off-season, but particularly in the winter:
https://www.garyjwolff.com/climbing-mt-fuji.html#2

If you insist on climbing Mt. Fuji in winter, by all means please submit the Mt. Fuji Climbing Plan form required by the Yamanashi Police Dept., plus you might want to try & hook up with a climbing partner in the "Hiking in Japan" group @ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/9872778764/

Best wishes to you...
