Is the Yoshida forest trail hikeable?

I genuinely would like to walk through the forest at the base of Mt.Fuji. In your opinion, is the trail from the very base of Mt.Fuji to the fifth station on the Yoshida trail, sufficient so that I could follow the trail or is it overgrown and not walkable? Thank you in advance.

Reply: I'm personally not aware of any trouble with the Yoshida forest trail. I believe it gets a lot of traffic and most mountain trails in Japan are very well-maintained.
