Meteor In Russia

by Soutarou
(Kumamoto)

Last year on February 15, 2013, Russia got a big meteor. It was named the Chelyabinsk meteorite. That is the first time people got hurt from a meteor in history.

It almost burned out, but the Russian government found a crater whose radius is 6 m. If the meteor didn’t burn out, we would get a crater whose radius is more than 100 m.

Most damage came from the sonic boom. That broke a lot of windows and the broken glass hurt more than 50 people.
