Mt. Ai-no-dake (間ノ岳)
and Mt. Shiomi-dake (塩見岳)
Climbing Schedule

On this Sept. 1996 trip, I set personal Japan climbing records for total hiking distance (43 km), total hiking time (29 hrs.), hiking distance in 1 day (21 km), hiking time in 1 day (>14 hrs.), and net elevation gain (2400m). And it’s interesting to note that even now, 15 years later, and after having climbed all of the 25 highest mountains in Japan, those records are still intact.

Below you will see my climbing schedule, trail distances, and elevations for this Mt. Ai-no-dake (間ノ岳) and Mt. Shiomi-dake (塩見岳) trip. I hope you will find some of the info helpful.
