My NZ friend

by Koichi N.
(Tokyo)

When I was a high school student, I met Oscar, who came from New Zealand. He was a student studying abroad and had stayed in Japan for 6 months. And he came to belong to the soccer club that I belonged to.

I was very excited to hear that, because almost every one of my soccer team members was short, but Oscar was about 2m tall!!! His heading shoot was very good and terrific. Thanks to him, my soccer club won in my city.

But 6 months passed since the time he had come. I thought that time passed quickly. For just 6 months he made a lot of memories.

On February 22, a tremendous earthquake occurred in Christchurch, NZ. I'm anxious about him. I wanna meet him now.
