We summited July 13, 2015. The post office sign said it would open the following week. The drop box was there and we just put our post card in. Got the postcard in the US a few days after they opened.

Yali, I just called the Japan post office headquarters and they said that next year's service hours & dates for the Mt. Fuji summit post office (富士山頂郵便局) are still undecided, but FYI, during the 2014 climbing season it was open 6 am to 2 pm from Fri. July 18, 2014 till Sun. Aug. 24, 2014, except on days with inclement weather.
