When will the post office on Mt. Fuji's summit be open?

Hi Gary,

Do you know if Mt. Fuji's summit post office will open at the same time as the Shizuoka Prefecture side of Mt. Fuji, i.e. July 10th (for 2014)?

The Japan Post website still has the opening date of last year listed (Sat. July 13, 2013): http://map.japanpost.jp/pc/syousai.php?id=300123999000

In 2025 it's open from Thursday, July 10 to Wednesday, August 20.

(For the past few years, Japan's highest post office on Mt. Fuji's summit (富士山頂郵便局, Fujisan-cho Yuubin Kyoku) is usually open from 6 am to 2 pm daily from July 10 (when the 3 Shizuoka trails open) till around the 20th or 21st of Aug., including weekends and holidays except on days with inclement weather.)

Great question!

I just called the Japan post office headquarters and they said this year the Mt. Fuji summit post office will be open 6 am to 2 pm from Sat. July 12, 2014 till Sun. Aug. 24, 2014.

But on days with inclement weather, they might have to close.
