Which 3 or 4 Japanese mountains are essential that you recommend me to climb?

Hi Gary,

First, thanks for your website which is very interesting and useful information. I would appreciate it if you can tell me which 3 or 4 Japanese mountains are essential that you recommend me to climb, besides Mt. Fuji?

When I go to Japan in August, some days I'll be crossing the mountains and staying in mountain huts or using my tent.

Thank you very much !!

Raúl

Ooooh, that's a tough one!

Raúl, that's such a difficult question to choose only 3 or 4, 'cause I liked them ALL, :-) but if I had to choose only 3, they'd have to be (in order):

Mt. Yari-ga-take

Mt. Tsurugi-dake

Mt. Shirouma-dake

As for Mt. Fuji, in 2012 I enjoyed climbing the Fujinomiya Trail.

Hope that helps! Best wishes to you...

Gary
