Your "The View from the Top of Japan" book

by Edward Bell

Hi Gary,

Many thanks for sharing with everyone such a wealth of information about Japan's mountains. I'm thinking of ordering a paperback copy of your book, 'The View from the Top of Japan', but I can't see how a small format book of 128 pages can possibly contain a fraction of the information that your website has about the mountains.

I'm planning a hiking trip to Japan in September. Unlike you, I'm not very good with using computers and tablets etc., hence my thoughts turned to buying the book.

As I can't find online any sample pages pages of your book, I'd like to ask if it's a guidebook to Japan's highest peaks or if it's an account of your experiences in the mountains?

Any information most appreciated.

Kind regards,
Edward Bell

Thanks for your kind words, Edward.

My nearly 6-year-old book is not a guidebook per se, but rather, as you suggested, an account of my experiences climbing Japan’s highest peaks, going back over a quarter-century ago.

You can view sample pages on the Amazon page (in the upper left, click on the image of the front cover where it says "Look inside").

Also, using the "Online Reader" at Smashwords, you can sample the first 20% of the eBook.

Thanks for visiting my site and best wishes with your hiking in September...

Cheers,
Gary
