Is it possible to climb Mt. Fuji on the Yoshida trail and descend it on the Fujinomiya trail?

Hi. We are a family from Barcelona who will visit Japan during next July. Before all, we want to thank you for this excellent website. It's really very well done and has been very helpful for us.

We would like to climb the mountain on the Yoshida trail and descend it on the Fujinomiya trail.

Do you know if this is possible? Many arigatos in advance!

Cristina i Manel from Barcelona.

No problem

Hola Gary,

If you'll allow me, I will add a comment about both trails I experimented with these past 2 years.

What I think about the FUJINOMIYA trail is that the descent is quite tricky because some rocks are not easy to catch with the walking sticks and being tired made me make some mistakes.

The YOSHIDA descent trail is easier and even relaxing (^_^), as my knees remind me I am getting older.

Gracias, Cristina i Manel.

No problem going up one Mt. Fuji trail and down another.

Here are a few stories from other Mount Fuji climbers who've gone up the Yoshida trail and down another one:

And because I climbed the Fujinomiya trail a years ago, you might find some helpful tips on this page: Climbing Mt. Fuji's Fujinomiya Trail

Happy trails...
