My Australia experiences

by Ayaka A.
(Edogawa, Tokyo)

To tell the truth, I have been to Australia for ten days when I was a junior high school student. I live in Tokyo's Edogawa Ward and I went to the city of Gosford between Sydney and Castle, which is a sister city of Edogawa Ward.

All things I saw and felt were very freshness and interesting!!

For example, there was time to have a snack before lunch. And I was prepared a raw carrot as a snack by my host mother !! Of course, it was very tough!!

And the traffic lights are also complex. I felt a lot of difference of culture between Australia and Japan.

But my host family challenged to cook “Sukiyaki” as supper for me. Surprisingly, “Somen” was in it. I haven’t experienced that before, but it was very delicious!!!

I gave them a Japanese traditional costume, what is called “Happi.” So, we could exchange each other’s culture.

These experiences are my treasure, including bitter experiences!!

That’s all. Thank you very much for reading.

Wow, what a wonderful experience you had in Australia, Ayaka !

After moving to Japan, I learned that Chiba City is a sister city of my hometown, Houston, Texas.

I really like these opportunities for cultural exchange & better international understanding.

Thanks so much for sharing your very interesting & enlightening story, Ayaka !
