Car vs. bus to the Mt. Fuji 5th Station

(Kamakura, Japan)

Hi Gary,
I am planning to climb Mt. Fuji on July 1st overnight. Do you know if I would be able to park at the 5th station July 1st? Seems like restrictons start the 10th according to the website, but I’m not certain.
I’m also coming from kamakura, would you suggest I take a train/bus or car?

Thank you

Trains/buses!
by: Gary Wolff

I assume you're referring to the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station. The website is correct. The Fuji Subaru Line toll road will be closed to private vehicles for 63 straight days from 5 pm on Tues. July 10, 2018.

Since there's no guarantee you'll find a parking space at the 5th Station, it's better for traffic congestion and the environment if you take trains & buses.

More details on bus schedules to the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station are here: https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6922.html#section_get_there
