Hi Gary! I'd like to know if I'm doing my last day from Hotaka-dake Sanso Hut to the bus terminal in Kamikochi.

How many hours does it take?

Thanks!

A little over 6 hours.

According to my 1996 version of the Mt. Oku-Hotaka-dake/Mt. Yari-ga-take 1:50,000 hiking map (*), part of the Yama-to-kogen Chizu series published by Shobunsha, from the Hotaka-dake Sanso to Mae-hotaka-dake it's 2 hours and 10 minutes, 2 hours down to the Dakesawa-goya Hut, and then 2 hours down to Kamikochi.

Another site I just checked shows the hiking time to be 7 hrs. 20 min. Take your pick. :-)

Happy trails and thanks for visiting my site…
