Only about 160,000 climbers in 2022 by: Gary Wolff
I'm not aware of any stats on how many folks actually reach the Mt. Fuji summit, but as recorded by infrared counters near the 8th station on all 4 trails, the number of Mt. Fuji climbers reached an all-time record of 320,975 climbers in 2010, before the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake & Tsunami.
Mt. Fuji was closed in 2020 due to the plandemic, and numbers have recovered only slightly to about 160,000 climbers last year due to continued border entry restrictions to foreigners.
