I want to visit New Zealand for snowboarding

by Yuka O.
(Saitama, Japan)

I'm interested in New Zealand because it has opposite seasons compared to here in Japan. So we Japanese can enjoy winter sports in summer. I went snowboarding this January in Japan.

I had gone skiing before, but I had never snowboarded. Since I learned to snowboard with trouble, I want to go snowboarding not only in winter, but also in summer. In New Zealand, the ski season starts after Japan's ends. So, I want to visit New Zealand for snowboarding in summer vacation.

I heard that many tourists who like skiing and snowboarding visit New Zealand. Therefore, I want to enjoy snowboarding with them.

Snowboarding in all seasons
by: Gary Wolff

What a great plan, Yuka, to be able to snowboard year-round.

I've always dreamed of a job where I could spend my summers in Hokkaido and winters in Okinawa, but I like your plan involving the southern hemisphere even better.

Maybe I can live and work in Tokyo April thru October, and then in New Zealand from November to March. That way I can have nice warm weather year-round. :-)

I hope you can snowboard in New Zealand very soon...
