Guaraná Antarctica

Guaraná Antarctica

I have some Brazilian friends who were studying English together when I was in Ireland. They told me what Brazilians like and their national character.

As we know already, Brazilians are really into football. Whenever they make eye contact with me, they said ‘Let’s play football, Yasutaka!!’

They also love chatting. There is no word “shy” in their dictionary and I guess they don’t know how to feel the atmosphere. But in general, Japanese are different, so we should learn their attitude sometimes.

In addition, they like Japanese culture. Especially, Japanese animation: "Super Campeões (Captain Tsubasa)," "Saint Seiya," and "Dragon Ball." All my Brazilian friends know these productions. I was surprised at this fact and understood how influential Japanese anime is!

I think most Japanese, including me, don’t know about this cheerful country very much, so we need to learn more even though there is a long distance between Japan and Brazil.

By the way, the drink you can see in this picture is called ‘Guaraná Antarctica,’ one of the most popular drinks in Brazil.

It’s a carbonated drink and really refreshing! I wish I could drink this in Japan!
