Original post (Feb. 29, 2016): We climbed Fuji-san in one day on July 17, 2014. With me were two young boys ages 8 and 10.

I was just wondering whether anyone knows the age of the youngest person to climb Fuji-san in one day.

Aug. 23, 2019 update: According to his mom, 4-year-old Logan scaled Fuji-san on his own, along with his family (shown above) via the Fujinomiya Trail on July 5, 2019. Congrats, Logan!

2 year old melody Mount Fuji.
by: Nbrumwell

Like I stated a couple years ago, my mom was 2 climbing that mount in the 50’s. I’ll look again for the newspaper article. I’ve only seen it once. But that aside it’s amazing your kids accomplished that climb. Never mind who the youngest, keep up the fitness!

Youngest climber
by: CanadaPete

Not sure of the absolute youngest, but a little 3 year old girl made it every step of the way with her parents up and down the Fujinomiya trail all by herself. Not only that she was running and jumping around at the summit. She was a real trooper and inspiration to other climbers that day.

That would be AMAZING if a 2 year old could do it alone in one day! Please do find it. That would be incredible.

Climbed The Mountain in 1957
by: Marlys

With the youngest American at that time to climb the Mountain. Melody was 2 years old and she walked every step of the way with myself, my husband, and her parents. I would love to find her today, and see how she is doing. I have her maiden name, but assume she has married since then. My husband had duty over in Yokosuka at that time.If I remember right we were about 75 miles from Tokyo. Any questions?

I was overtaken by a bunch of what looked like 6 year olds when I climbed Fuji in 2014. Was I embarrassed? Of course not. After all, they were younger than me. The two ladies in what looked like their eighties that passed me however...
