What snow conditions should we expect on the Kawaguchiko trail on July 11, 2013?

(Raleigh, North Carolina)

My wife and I plan to climb Mount Fuji on July 11, 2013. Based on current snow conditions, does it look like we will have any trouble with the snow? We plan to take the Kawaguchiko trail.

I think early to mid-July ascents are always a gamble, as you really never know the snow conditions from one year to the next, and it's still too early now to forecast the trail conditions for the 1st few weeks of the upcoming climbing season.

Last year the Kawaguchiko trail was open all the way to the summit from July 2, but the Fujinomiya trail above the New 7th Station and the Subashiri route above the 7th Station didn't open till July 13, and the Gotemba route above the 6th Station not until July 20.

I'll try to post some updated trail conditions starting from around July 1st here: https://www.garyjwolff.com/climbing-mt-fuji.html#35

Best wishes w/ the climb!!
